FORFEITING GAMES
Who needs to be
informed when a team forfeit’s a game? -
The club secretary who will inform BSA and the Club Treasurer.
Why does BSA need to
know?
BSA will notify the other team and the basketball stadium where the
game is scheduled to be played.
When can a team
forfeit?
After every other avenue has been exhausted to prevent a forfeit.
How much
notice should be given to the Club Secretary?
At least 24 – 48 hours is the minimum time.
If a team needs to
forfeit just prior to the game who needs to be notified?
The club secretary – so contact can be made with the other team and the
stadium the game is to be played at.
Also notification to the Club Treasurer.
Does the club receive
any penalties due to a forfeit?
Yes all clubs are fined when one of their teams forfeits.
Why do the clubs get
fined?
To cover the umpires cost and court hire – also to deter clubs from
forfeiting.
